My Ideal Business.

I'm looking to start a business basic idea deal with a few things. One being I'd deal with selling rock t-shirts (new/used) and the last being Living Dead Dolls (New/Used). There's a big market for these kind of things online and to have our little small store would be a great thing.

 

One key part of this is my friend who wants to help me start this business, he's legally disabled, now to be clear he has kidney cancer and is dying. He really wants to start a business and I know there must be some kind of programs or something he could look into that may help us??

 

Lastly and most important with what I just said above I have no real cash to start a business and in order for me to make this all happened I just need to the correct info. It would mean a great deal for me to get this going and started for my friend and at least he can say one of his dreams came true and as chessy at may sound.

Hi TryAgain, According to the SBA.gov website, non US citizens are eligible to receive small business loans if they are legally living and operating business in the US. This also depends on other certain factors. BrianS,   I realize this question might be a real dumb one, but I am assuming that financing a business, that is - getting a small business loan would only be possible for a US citizen ? E.g., a foreign individual, or an offshore company would not really be able to apply ?

Abrunelle113, Here are some links that provide information about starting a business and financing that business through small business loans: 10 Steps to Starting a Business Writing a Business Plan Small Business Loans Loans and Grants Search Tool Business Resources for Disabled People Here a few links just to get you started. The first is a basic business guide, showing you necessary steps to starting any business. The second link gives detailed information on writing a business plan, which you will need. The third and fourth links are for financing your business. Small Business Loans are probably the best way to go. The search tool lets you input information about your business and it will tell you the loans and grants you should apply for. Keep in mind that grants are really hard to get. The last link has a wealth of information concerning disabled entrepreneurs including tax information, training programs, etc. I hope this gets you started! BriaS

What if wanted to run this business from our house as an internet based business to start off then what would we need to do??
Believe it or not, starting and running your t-shirt business from home on the internet may be less expensive than setting up shop. Although when someone orders from your website you have to have the means to deliver the goods. To do that you must have certain processes in place. So along with the web sit you also must think about production and distribution. When orders come in how will you fulfill (produce) the order and get it to the customer (distribution). To start an internet based home business you will need (at minimum to get going): 1. Register a Domain name (yoursite.com) 2. Web Hosting service to host domain and web files 3. Website set up (quick wordpress setup will do the trick - easy for home based entrepreneur to manage) 4. Means to accept payment (you can place pay buttons on website using paypal). Even if you set up some sort of catalogue layout. I'm not sure of how much you know about internet marketing business models so I hope this helps.
