I did a search for two names that I want to use for my Wedding Planning business in New York. They were both available but one said that there was a word that required further approval from another agency. They didn't say which word but I'm guessing it's consulting.
They said "See, as may apply"
Business Corporation Law SS3014
Not-for-Profit Corporation Law SS301 and 404
Limited Liability Company Law SS204
Partnership Law SS121-102
I tried Googling these but still can't make heads or tails of it all. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? I plan to open as an LLC without any partners. Marriage counseling won't be a part of my business.

file. So I am good to go.

words you used. You might try your search again without using the word
"consulting" or "counseling" and see if the results are different. Use a term
such as "Jones Wedding and Event Planning" and see if that is acceptable. If
you are required to describe your business activities, again do not use the
words consulting, consultant, or counseling/counselor.
Counselors require special occupational licenses and some types of businesses
cannot be registered as certain entity types. If you try a different name and
still have a problem, then call your state agency that licenses businesses
and explain the situation to them.
