I am a minority, women owned, Plus 50, and veteran business owner, I want to get my business certified. It cost $250 a year for Minortity, $350 a year for women owned, not sure about the veteran and being over 50 certification yet. Point is I can't afford the fees being a disadvantage business and all, how can I pay these fees? I could do a lot for my business with $600. However I need to get certified so that I can get my merchandise seen and hopefully in major department stores. Is there any grant money or fee waivers out there to help with these certification fees? This post was edited to remove a link. Check out our loans and grants tool to see what financing might be available. Keep in mind that although the SBA doesn't provide grants to start or grow a business, certain grants do exist for very specific groups, organizations, or activities.
If you have other specific questions, try getting in touch with a local Small Business Development Center, which is one of SBA's resource partners.
