To start off, you are going to have to really get your name out there. Through a bunch of Search Enging Optimization techniques, you will have to work long and hard to get your website towards the top of the google listings. With this particular indurstry(airline tickets) you will be battling so many other companies and several different giants icluding Expedia, Orbitz, etc... that it may not even be a realistic chance for you. As you are just starting it will be better to join a travel agent as sub agent. I think you need to have iata registration number to issue air tickets. As a sub agent you will be earning healthy commission while tickets will be issued by some one else.

as what shortanswer say this was a very comppetitive business. and also he suggest you to look for a certain geography. I agree to that now make sure that place was one of the favorite place. like hawaii, rome and italy. I also add up to make some more researches. GOOD LUCK!

I don't mean to discourage you, but this is a very very competitve business given that most people get great travel deals online and go online to book their travel plans. You need to work extra hard to build your client base. Instead you can probably build your own travel site specializing in certain geography. If you still want to do this, I suggest you talk to some travel agencies in a different city and get their advise. If you check with few of your friends, I am sure someone will know a travel agent personally who can help you out.

raviinder, I'm not familiar with wholesale listsing in that market, but you may be able to find the information you are looking for by doing a simple search on airline ticket consolidators. In the meantime, Business.gov offers general information and resources on starting an online business.

That is a very big question as the anwser really depends on so many things. I would suggest that you find a small business development center (SBDC) in your area - they are free to use and can help you write and research your business. if you can't get to a SBDC - then try SCORE.org. If you research and write a good business plan - all your questions will be anwsered.
