I am planning to do business for profit within the coming month. I am a resident in North Carolina but will move to Colorado by the end of this year. The location for my business will be my home since ;ll be working as reseller and sales agent. -ll register my business as LLC in NC, and later -ll move to CO to continue the same business. Is there any way to keep the former state's registration and continue operating business under my original business name from another state (i.e. Colorado), or do I need to register the name again in CO, and if my name is already taken in that state does that mean I need to go with a new name?
It sounds as thought you will have to register your buinsess in Colorado once you move there. Please keep in mind that there are state and local laws that regulate home-based businesses that you should familiarize yourself with before you start up in either state.
