I had at one point in time started a hauling business using a pickup truck
and trailer . Did ok for about 6 months or so til the truck I used blew the
motor . Altho I worked average 2-3 days on the slow side per week , I would
sometimes work as much as 5days aweek. When I did this hauling I utilized
craigslist for my advertising needs . At that time I wasn't making enough to
get licensed as a hauler , have any type of insurance other then Automotive ,
didn't have any employees with the exception of once or twice on a rare
occassion I required assistance.
Ideally I'm looking for info reguarding:
Licensing,
taxes * state, local, township*
School Tax?
U/C Benifets,
Insurance other then automotive
start up loans.
what is qualified use of loans ( buying trucks, trailers, licensing, etc etc
.)
tax id.
i'm sure i'm forgetting something but i'm on a public computer and its timed
. I have to go to another location and come back if i think of anything else.

You have three options: Buy tractor-trailers outright, lease them or contract
with drivers who own their own rigs. If you purchase, you may be able to take
advantage of Section 179 of the Internal Revenue Code, which allows you to
take extra depreciation deductions on vehicles you place into service for
business purposes.

type, obtain an EIN, have adequate insurance and any required local business
licenses. Many businesses will not hire you if you are not a legal business.
You may want to meet with a counselor at a small business development center
or SCORE office for more information.
