I would like to start a massage and healing center here in MA. there is none
like it in the 100mile range, i have done research. we are getting a massage
envy in the 40 mile radius but they are considered the "mcdonalds" of massage
I would like to have reiki, yoga, massage, herbalists, hypnotism, among other
types of healing. I have a building in mind that would need remodling, i have
basic talents and others to help as we have a foreclosure house that we have
done the main work in. I am not sure where to get funding for this. I own my
house outright and its valued for over 180000 so I could use it as collateral
if needed. Any ideas from people would be welcomed. thank you in advance for
all your ideas

perhaps a rental space with massage and reiki and then add on other service
as you grow and move into your own place? Just a thought. It has taken me a
while to grow my massage business, but it has been worth it.

lender will give you a business loan - too much risk in a startup. Thus, I
suggest you look for ways to bootstrap this idea - one of which is using your
home's equity - also think about credit cards, asking friends and family to
help and asking those that want to work with you to pitch in for a small
stake in the business.
But, more then anything - scale your business. Can you start somewhere that
you don't have to dump a lot of money into a building or build out? Can you
work for someone else or at a local gym until you build up a client base
first - then take them with you? It sounds like you got a great idea but, in
order to make it work, you have to be smart about it and use as little of
your own money as you can until the business begins to cash flow itself.
