Hello, I am Canadian and will be immigrating to the US soon through spousal sponsorship.
When I recieve my permanent residence card, are there any additional requirements for me to start my own business compared to citizens? In other words, is there a waiting period, a financial requirement, or a requirement to be a citizen?
I currently have a business in Canada and would like to quickly set up a sister company in the US when I relocate. A assume all I need is the SSN but I wanted to be sure.

Canadian001- As a green card holder, you will be subject to the same requirements as a U.S. citizen. Please feel free to take a look at the 10 steps to starting a business to help you get rolling.
In which state are you planning to start your business? You can also look at our State and Local Resources for more legal, tax, and license regulations particular to your state.

As for my understanding there are no additional requirements for most, if not all types of businesses.
Government contracts may be more interesting, but overall I wouldn't be concerned.
