(Non Profit) Helping low income Families

Hello my name is Lynnel Townsend,

I am CEO of a non profit organization called LIFES, designed to help low income families in government subsidized apartments. Our goal is to give these families the tools and skills to learn to work together like a unit to find jobs, further their education and make a success of their lives. LIFES has caught the attention of many individuals including President Obama who responded favorably with an email to us.

Because some government subsidized apartments are filled with life threatening health, safety and sanitation issues due to poor management, as a result, we have designed kits that can work in most apartments to help owners bring these properties up to peak performance to provide decent housing, jobs and educational opportunities to many families in need.

We are in the process of trying to obtain funds to purchase our first apartment complex to provide decent housing to 54 low income families in a local community.This apartment will serve as a running model of how we can offer our services in government subsidized apartments throughout the country. In harmony with our theme we look forward to 'Helping low income families Unite,' by 'Teaching People how to help Themselves and Others.'
