I would like to know what can a person do to get a not for profit organization for kids started. I have registered with ccr.gov, I'm waiting on their response. But I want to know what qualifications are needed to estabish this type of organization?

Non-profit organizations must be granted non-profit status by the IRS before you can register your business in your state or with ccr.gov as a non-profit. For information you may want to visit http://www.irs.gov/charities/index.html Obtaining non-profit status takes time and can be costly, so you will want to be certain your business qualifies before you begin the process.
