I've been thinking about the feasibly of using Public Domain images to sell offline. My idea is to use PD images..ie..famous artist, old posters, landscapes, etc..various images in PD with no copyright restrictions. I would want to matte or frame these images and start out placing them in various shops, galleries, home decor, furniture stores on consignment.
I know the biggest expense would be a commercial printer, with matte and framing material next.
So my question is the legalities of image use, could this be a viable business etc etc.
So what you folks think? 1. Forget It! 2. Get a real job. 3. Maybe, do more research. Yes, doable!

Before you proceed with public domain images, you should consider if the images are entitled to separate copyright protection by the original photographer or artist.
