If you want counseling, then call your local SBA office and make an appointment to meet with a SCORE counselor or call your nearest small business development center and meet with a counselor. An SBDC counselor can arrange to have market research completed for you if you need it. If you are thinking about securing an SBA loan, then you need to contact a bank that specializes in SBA loans. The SBA guarantees loans; it doesn't issue them. Before you meet with a banker you will need to have completed your business plan, including at least three years of pro forma financial statements. Pro forma statements are estimates of your anticipated income and expenses over a period of time. A SCORE or sbdc counselor can help you prepare them.
