Parent Company and Sub-Companies

I founded and incorporated my business in 2005.  I would like that business to fall under the umbrella of a parent company I created.  Do I need a new EIN number or does this fall under the category of re-structuring?

swtluvofj3 - it's hard to say based on the infromation that you've provided. I suggest that you look at this EIN checklist (provided by the IRS) to determine if you need a new EIN

What do you mean by fall under the umbrella of a parent company are you trying to accomplish some type of tax objective, legal liability objective, or something else? Once an entity (business, individual) has an Employee Identification Number, that EIN sticks with the entity throughout the life of the entity therefore the only reason I can think of for getting a new EIN is if the former entity was dissolved.
