Poor Credit/Little Capital Is a small business still realistic?

I have education and experience in Landscape Maintenance/Installation. The
startup costs for a soley operated Landscape firm is under $15,000. Could be
alot less if I buy really used equip though that means more repair costs. My
crdit score is 568 and I am currently "under employed" so capital is very
minimal at best. I am a white male, haven't been on welfare in past year, a
vet but with a bad conduct discharge, and not in an economically depressed
area. Are there any grants or small business loans a person with alot of
chips stacked against him get??? My attitude is def positive but I realize a
lender wouldn't look at me with rose colored glasses.

Unfortunately, as JGabriel mentioned, grants are not available to start a
for-profit business and a loan will be difficult to secure when you don't
have good credit and the ability to make a personal financial investment in
the business. Your best bet may be to work for another landscaper or a
nursery or garden center and get some additional experience while building
your credit. Then, in a couple years you will be in a better position to
start your own company.
