I've written about a dozen articles so far to promote my business. On the plus side, I see other sites pick them up & distribute them. However, the main sites hosting them tell me my articles have not gathered a lot of views. What can I do to attract viewers? Some suggest getting more articles out, which would draw attention to the ones I've already posted.

I'm especially wondering about the use of the key words. If I use more popular terms, I'm concerned about getting lost in the plethora of sites that would come up when searchers used those terms. On the other hand, I'm concerned that if I use more specialized terms, I'll get fewer searchers in general tho my articles might have greater chance of showing up near the top.

I just want to put my best efforts towards what will get the most results. Thanks.

Writing articles and distributing them on multiple aggregration sites is a great way to get some more site traffic. If you need some more ideas of where to post your articles you should take a look at this list: socialseo.com/the-best-free-article-syndication-sites.html As for your question, how to get more views on your distributed articles, you should Google search 'How To Linkwheel'. It is an SEO method of linking all your articles to one another to generate further traffic. It is rather time consuming, but it works. Google/Yahoo/Bing still give linkwheeling quite a bit of credence (even while they don't give normal backlinks as much) due to the time it takes to set them up - it's not something that everyone is doing, so it's still effective. If you need any help with getting some linkwheels started, feel free to shoot me a message and I can give you some free help. Cheers, Ben. ---This post was edited to remove a commercial link. Use keywords in article is second point from my point of view, what i suggest you is dont write dozen's of article better write unique and quality article that will attract more to visitors. Your title and summary should be very informative that visitors like to read whole artilce. I am 100% sure if one or two person likes your aritcle they will definately share with there friends, so you have no need to do so much promotion. Because many of us write dozen aricle and doing lot of promotion but result nothing, so better see what visitors wants? This is fact, quality article automatically get traffic. After that you can google it keyword research tool for your site for keywords selection.

I guess you need to submit the artcile urls in all social media sites that will help to bring more visitors to your article. Also you can share the same in Social Networking sites. People may be interested to read your article. But your article should have interesting info to read.

attractive article title can help with views, but if you've submitted the article to a highly respected article site with high PR, you can also look at link building startegies. Build links to the articleand you may just find it getting ranked well in search engines due to the the reputation of the site hosting the article. Kw selection is difficult, but don't get too scared off - even competitive KW's can be conquered with good design and link building strategies. I can recommend a few good link building programs if you like, just PM me and I'll tell you what I've personally found to work well.

mrhelpful hit it on the head when he mentioned building links to the actual url that the article is on. Because you'd be linking to a high page rank site like ezine or goarticles, your article may get ranked in the search engines way easier than if you were to try and rank your own website. There are also many useful software programs that help distribute the article accross the internet to help build backlinks..only downside is that there is a slight learning curve with each software and you'll have to spend sometime setting them up but once you do you can cut your article marketing time in half. If you'd like you can send me a PM I can also suggest a good article writing service so you can focus more on growing your business and not being an internet marketer!

Article Marketing is an exceptional way to get the word out about your business. You can establish yourself as the authority in your niche by writing and submitting articles.

Oneapproach to consider is to find the major content sites in your market and offer your articles to them directly. This way you are getting your articles in front of your target audience directly. Traditional article marketing is great for building backlinks to boost your rankingsbut is not so hot at getting in front your ideal customer. master cleanse

Erin, Everyone seems to be talking about one particular part of the puzzle but it's more complex than that. Article marketing (as it is known) is a fine art honed over many years. Firstly start with the big names like ezinearticles, Articlesbase and Articledashboard. Get unique content articles to these guys for your biggest natural distribution. There are 1000's of lesser article directories most of which are a waste of time unless you automate your article distribution. Secondly, you are right! Keywords are important. You need to consider two things. relevancy to your product/business and competition in the search engines. I.e you can write an article on 'diet' which will have 10 million searches in Google and not one will find your article. If, on the other hand' you wrote an article on 'low fat diet for the over 50's' then there may be only 5,000 searches in Google but you have a very good chance of getting most of them to find your article.Don't worry about 'less people seeing your article' asin practice if you target less competitive keywords you will actually get more readers and hence more traffic to your website. The last ingredient is the links to your article. One reason to use EzineArticles and the like is that they are already authority sites with thousands of strong back links and that alone can propel your article to the first page of Google if you target the right keywords. If it doesn't then you need to build links to your actual article URL. Plenty of info on the web on how to do that. That's all there is to it, if you want to stay on what we call the white hat side of the rules, and keep your website in favour with all the search engines (especially Google). I second what Amelia is saying. If you want to get views to your articles, there are two main approaches: 1) Do keyword and competition research to see how easy/hard it will be to rank on a particular article site for your keyword. There is software to help you do this such as MicroNicheFinder, MarketSamurai, Link Assistant and many others. 2) Search article directories for articles that are already getting views in certain areas and for certain subjects/titles within your niche and figure out from their platform how to get your article to show up as related articles.
