Just working hard will make things great more each day. Being positive towards work whether it's online or not is the basic rule that should be applied. Being consistent is a great step as well.

Many states and local jurisdictions require a person to obtain a business license or permit before beginning business operations.  A business that operates without the required license or permit may be subjected to fines or may be barred from further business activity.  In some localities, a business operating out of a residence may require an additional permit. While business licensing requirements vary from state-to-state, the most common types include:    ·    Basic Business Operation License - a legal document issued by a local governmental authority that authorizes a person to conduct business within the boundaries of the municipality.  Many states have established small business assistance agencies to help small businesses comply with state requirements; ·    Fictitious Name Certificate   - a document, usually filed with a state agency, which is required to operate a business using an assumed name or trade name (essentially, any name other than the full, formal name of the individual or company); ·    Home Occupation Permit - a permit which may be required to conduct business from a residence;   ·    Tax Registration - if the state has a state income tax, a business owner must usually register and obtain an employer identification number from the state Department of Revenue or Treasury Department.  If the business engages in retail sales, the owner must usually obtain a sales tax license;   ·    Special State-Issued Business Licenses or Permits - these permits may be required for a business that sell highly-regulated products like firearms, gasoline, liquor, or lottery tickets;   ·    Zoning and Land Use Permits - may be required to develop a site or property for specific purposes   ·    Employer Registrations - if the business has employees, the owner must usually make unemployment insurance contributions;   Additional state licenses may be required for regulated occupations such as building contractors, physicians, appraisers, accountants, barbers, real estate agents, auctioneers, private investigators, private security guards, funeral directors, bill collectors, and cosmetologists.

Hi Kristen, I commend you for starting your online business, it take hard work and with the 3 P's you will make it. Patience, Persistance and Perserverance. Can I suggest that when you start you make a website with wordpress.org and attached your domain name to this site. Your only cost in doing this is your hosting fee. With wordpress.org you own the site but if you make the mistake that many make by using wordpress.com they own the content and the site and can shut you down in a flash. Your wordpress.org site can be your home where you can promote any business you like. Also google just loves wordpress.org sites and using this platform as your business home page you will rank faster and higher with google in a no time at all. It's much better to work online than traditional business. Clients are better than just simply buyers. You can also work at home with your family.

Yes, starting an online business is easier than a traditional business but is hard to get new clients. I had a small web hosting business, this niche is saturated, too much competition, you must think twice before choosing the niche of your business, this is one of the keys, analyze the market to be able to find what the customers search for.

Hello there! You are embarking on a great journey and the 10 steps mentioned earlier is a great place to start - It helped us a great deal. I would also go to your local SCORE office or state licensing office to find out specific State requirements.
