I am think to start a company to sell fine chemicals to pharmaceutical companies or academic institution for their research projects. I will not manufacture the chemicals ,instead, I will buy these chemicals from other companies. I have a couple of questions:
1. My business will be more like a sales office. What type (catagory) of business is for the purpose of registration in NJ?
2. Do I need any permit? and, a UPS adress is enough to conduct the business?
3. What is the transaction process? Do I send the invoice with the shipping package or send the invoice seperately (by mail, email, fax?)?

If you are starting your business in NJ, I would first recommend that you look through the NJ Small Business Guide for information on the legal steps to starting a business in the state -which includes determining the best legal structure for your business. The guide also provides free resources that support NJ small businesses.
I would then recommend that you start your research with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s Small Business Assistance page which includes a small business guide to the FDA.
