When running an online business that provides services such as web hosting, design, and management, do you just need to register in the state you operate the business, or any state in which you have clients?
Also, does the registerd agent of an LLC have to be a legal resident of the state of formation, or do they just have to have a physical address in that state?
You can form your LLC in any state you wissh; however due to some instances of double taxation at the state level you usually want to register with your home state. As with the registered agent some states do require the agent to be within the state you are registering in; just review the requirements for the state your applying for your LLC in; this is usually at the secratary of state website or official state website.
