Questions about MBA for small business owner

I am a small business owner looking to further my education and am considering an MBA. It seems that all the attention when choosing a school/program is focusing on an AACSB accreditation. While I can certainly understand this for those pursuing a career in academia or even with a medium to large corporation, is it really necessary for the small entrepreneur who's just looking to run their business more efficiently and possibly develop a better portfolio for potential lenders? I'm not too worried about the cost of tuition since I'll be using the Post 9/11 GI Bill (and the Yellow Ribbon Program if needed), but don't want to waste it on a degree that will do me little good beyond the added knowledge it imparts. Thanks,
