I would like to obtain a $150,000 - 500,000 start-up loan to put me back into business . My ex-husband received our business in a divorce settlement.

 

The amount received is dependent upon how large my shop will start off.  I have been in successful businesses for most of my life.

 

I have a great passion for this business. I feel it, taste, want it. Thus I know without a doubt I will be successful.

Hi Sally,   If you're looking to secure funding, one of the main things someones going to want to know is what proof you can offer of past sucess.  from the sounds of things you've had a history of succesful businesses in the past so you should eb able to gain some confidence this way - if your credit is good you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a loan, but 5% seems like a pretty low rate -have you seen business loans advertised at these rates?
avoiding a foreclosure is something everyone wants to do - if you're facing foreclosure get educated and you just might save your home.

I think you made a valid point when you said one has to have proofs of past
success.

If the credit score is good, then one may not have a problem with getting a
loan.
The best way to get answers is to ask questions - research now beats fixing problems later hands down!

Government agencies generally do not make loans directly to business owners. The government provides a guaranty to banks and lenders for money lent to small businesses. You can read more about the loan application process on Business.gov. The Small Business Administration's Microloan Program may be a fitting option for you. The program's goal is to increase the availability of loans to small business borrowers by loaning small amounts of capital - up to $35,000.
