What are the pros and cons of registering your business in the state you reside in or registering your business in a state such as Delaware. How can this be done?
I did some research on this. Although operating as a Delaware or Nevada Corp sounds appealing, unless you actually reside in those states, it's better just to stick with filing in your own state. I live in California and, if I remember correctly from the last time I checked, I would still have to report and pay taxes in California (where I'm physically operating) as well as taxes in whichever state the company is registered in. In conclusion: minor (if at all) tax benefits in exchange for major paperwork and headaches. Not worth it, IMO.
