You answers would greatly help reduce my anxiety and confusion.
I'm a foreign national with a H1b working visa in the states.
At the same time, i was approached by a foreign company to help them expand the market in the US.
My question is, after I help the foreign company to register with a particular state, and I follow the 10 steps to start the business, most likely a LLC,
Can I directly involve in the daily operation of the company?
Or should I partner with a US citizen, and I only involve in the business to an extent a passive investor is supposed to?
My understanding is that I'm not supposed to work in the US, unless I'm authorized by the immigration. I'm confused over the fact that helping a foreign company to register in a particular state doesn't entitle me to operate the business without immigration boundary.
Thanks a lot!
