Hello, I am new to Business.gov trying to navigate through the site and all of the available information. At the risk of posting this in the wrong place, I'd like to outline what I'm looking for and then wait for some feedback on where I can find the info I'm looking for. AVDomotics is a small business based in Sedona, AZ. We automate residential and commercial buildings integrating lighting control, HVAC, shade control, audio and video etc. (AKA 'Smart Home' Technologies). We also provide energy resource monitoring solutions. When implemented as a standalone system, these solutions provide real-time data to the consumer of the current and historical energy consumption. As a behavior modification tool, this data creates a feedback loop for the consumer to help manage their energy consumption. When this data is integrated into a smart home or building , the home or building can begin to make appropriate adjustments automatically to optimize both energy consumption and production through renewable sources such as PV cells, wind, geo-thermal etc. Our current business position is such that in order to pursue and 'gear up' for providing these solutions more effectively we need to hire new employees however, with our current capital debt position and the economic situation we can't afford to hire someone and expect to be able to support them during the transition. We are looking for grants to either help pay down our capital debt and/or to help develop our energy resource monitoring division enabling us to build and expand our business. Our recent efforts have turned up nothing... the business is owned and operated by two middle aged white male brothers which significantly narrows our grant options. We expect that the new Green stimulus initiatives will provide eco-minded business owners like us the opportunity to develop these energy saving solutions while providing new high paying employment.
