It is very hard to obtain grants from the government. You can opt to put the business in both your names, that way if something happens to either one of you, the other can run the business. I would refer back to the discussion about Hot Shot Business in Texas. There was a variety of knowledgeable information in that discussion. Minority Owned Businesses can provide you with different resources and Federal programs that you and your wife maybe interested in.
