registering in PR

I am a corporation registered in Texas. Do I have to re-incorporate to do business in Puerto Rico? Is my Federal ID and other info usable there? Do I have to register my business? I have a merchant registration already on file there.

Please let me know if anyone has the experience in dealing with this.

Hi Fstone55, You should obtain a certificate of authority to do business from that PR's Secretary of State. Doing business in a state without registering can result in penalties or corrective action by the jurisdiction. You can learn more about it in our blog: Doing Business in Another State?
