I have a 3 yr old defunct c-corp that I basically defaulted on and never used at all. I had actually even forgotten about it and had moved from the address associated with it.
Recently the bank account found me at my new address and I realized that account is still open and active.
I now have an immediate need to start an LLC. Should I resurrect the old C-Corp, keep the old name and change it to an LLC? Should I just start a new LLC with the same name and properly close out the C-Corp, or should I scrap the C-Corp and start a new LLC with a new name?
Uh... and I need to make a decision probaly within a week! ;D
The best course would be to officially close out your old C-Corp company and the bank account associated to it. Then, either found a new C-Corp or LLC company in the state of your choice; however the state you do business in would be the best, unless it's an online only company.
