My name is Scott Robarge and I am the founder of Another8 Solutions, a
recruiting consultancy. Does anyone know whether there is an online list of
business licensing requirements for all 50 states?

47-2851.03d: “A General Business License shall be required for all
businesses engaging in any business transaction in the District that have a
business tax identification number and who are not otherwise required to
obtain an endorsement under a license endorsement category under this
chapter. If a business entity is comprised of principals who are required to
maintain licenses granted or regulated by a local, state, or national
certification board or body, the entity and its licensed principals shall not
be required to obtain a General Business License. A biennial fee of $200
shall be charged for the General Business License.” Additional licensing
requirements and procedures can be found in Chapter 38 of Title 17 of the
District of Columbia Municipal Regulations.

I agree with kmurray. you can visit http://www.sba.gov/licenses-and-permits
as he has mentioned here. I would also suggest you to visit
http://sc.gov/business/Pages/LICENSESANDPERMITSBUSINESS.aspx and
http://www.blnc.gov/start-your-business/business-licenses-permits for more
details. as per the instruction from blnc.gov please check that *The
Directory of State Business Licenses and Permits is not intended and should
not be used as a means to identify all of your State license and permit
requirements. The only assurance for full accuracy is a consultation with one
of our Business Counselors.
