CreastCapital,
Thanks for that info. Been wanting to find a way to expand my business and if I can do more with EHR I can devote a person to actually generating business for the practice

Looking for grants to help rural PA dental office go paperless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is this question referring to the gov’t incentive to medical professionals that prove meaningful use of Electronic Health Records?? If so, Medical professionals (including dental*) can receive an incentive reimbursement of up to $64,000 over six years. *Qualified medical professionals for the Medicare HIT incentive include doctors of medicine, osteopathy, surgery, dental medicine, podiatric medicine, optometry and chiropractors. You must also not be hospital based, demonstrate meaningful use of a certified EHR and Submit Medicare Part B Claims. Funds for medical professionals will become available on January 1, 2011. The maximum amount if you qualify under Medicare is $44,000 over 5 years. This includes the early adopter incentive. In order to qualify for the early adopter bonus, you should start implementing and training now if you have not already. The payments are front loaded, with the bulk of the payments coming in the first 2 years.
Instead of looking for grants to make this happen - which you will not find - you might want to search the IRS for green business credits. While credits don't pay for the entire thing - they can help off-set the cost through taxable income reductions or tax refunds at the end of the year.
Hi dnic -
Going paperless has become very popular over the last few years. Unfortunately - there government grants are generally not available to for-profit small businesses. There are government guaranteed loans available to help your small business with finances. Check out the Small Business Cents article, I Need Money - Where Do I Get It? for more information on possible financing options.
Also try using our Loans and Grants Search Tool to set specific criteria and find what financing programs are available to fit your specific business needs. Good luck with your search and we hope you'll continue to use the community as an outlet for your business questions and experiences.
