You may want to check with your city clerk's office to find out if you need a local business license. Some communities license all businesses; others license only a few types of businesses. It would also be a good idea to have an attorney create a partnership agreement to spell out how business affairs are handled - how financial decisions are made, who makes other decisions, etc. If you don't have one and something goes wrong or one person wants out of the business, you may have problems. A partnership legally ends when one partner dies or exits the business in some other way unless you have a legal partnership agreement that contains anexit strategy.
