Staring A Pharmacy Business

Hello,

 

I am doing doing a business plan on starting a pharmacy business in Texas. I can't get much info on the required permits and licenses, procedures and processes required, equipment and start up capital needed.

Your advice in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Hi Ebby .. On a hunch I went to the Texas Business Portal to see if I could find a link to the licensing and permits registration page for you. I found a link for the Texas Licenses, Permits, and Registration Database on the Governor's page. I also found the link to where you can find some Pharmacy Requirements in Texas. Also, the Texas State Board of Pharmacy has a lot of resources for pharmacy professionals including Facility Licensing information. The industry you are going in to sounds very interesting. I'd be curious to hear if there are more federal, state and local requirements in this technical medical field. I hope you return to share when you find out.

The first link under the Start and Manage a Business section will point you to resources for your business plan. Check out the License and Permits tool on that page too. Also, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a Pharmacist's Manual with additional resources on registration, security, and inventory requirements. The first step is to establish your business by having a name, applying for grants, permits, or even loans.
