I am in the idea and business plan stages of creating a cleaning service for office buildings, restaurants etc. What are the things I need to consider? Licensing, permits etc. Anyone's advice or experience is much appreciated.

I think BizResearcher is right! Our cleaning company cleans the carpets once
a month with a foul-smelling chemical suite. I read one of the labels on one
of their bottles: I'll probably get cancer! I think a green cleaning business
angle that works hard to use low (or lower) risk cleaning agents is a great
idea.

businesses. Your insurance agent can provide information.
Have you considered making it a green company? That could be a marketing hook
that will draw in clients who want to avoid chemicals.

assumptions (sales; revenue). Watch for the break even point so you know how
much you need in savings (if necessary) to tide you over until your new
business is able to cover all your expenses (business and personal).
And have a good marketing plan so you know where your customers will come
from and how to reach them.

reinforcement to your potential clients. Sign up with other business entities
that will help you stand up for your business. This ensures you get the
confidence from your customers and puts you in a good light. It will also
help if you write out a business plan before you open up shop. This will help
you keep things into perspective as you come across many business decisions.
