Congratulations on taking the initiative to create an online business. You do have decide what is is you want to do online. Do you want to sell information or sell "hard " product. Selling an information product such as an ebook means you do have added logistical issues such as shipping, storage and initial purchase of product. You can of course sell product you have made yourself. Once you have identified your niche, or what is is you are going to do, a major factor in your success will be the creation of a website. Not all sites are created equal. You can spend a lot of money on a website. It may look pretty and busy but may not help you sell your product. Once you have your website up and running you then have to drive traffic to it. You can learn to do this yourself . If all the website jargon and methodology sound too hard there are products and people out there who can help. Just make sure they can show you their success before you spend valuable dollars. You should not have to take out a bank loan to get started. That is one of the beauties of online business's start ups.

You don’t tell us anything about yourself or your previous business experience. Fact is that these days starting your own internet business is tough and requires a lot of perseverance. I would not suggest you plough any significant money into it until you have gained some practical experience and gained some revenue stream. Best to start small: look at existing information products on Clickbank for example. As an affiliate the major task would be to drive traffic to your won site which is where the real work comes in. Also find a guru or mentor who can point you in the right direction. Several spring to mind but someone like Jimmy Brown or Ryan Deiss would be a good place to start. Later on you may need to invest heavily in the business but hopefully it would be self-funding. Thinking of taking out a loan sounds absolutely the wrong mindset for this kind of business.

The only reason I can think of where you would need a loan is if you are actually stocking product to sell. Otherwise an online business should cost you next to nothing. Hosting is very cheap - $5/ month give or take, free open source checkout such as ZenCart or OSCommerce (if selling products or dropshipping), gateway/merchant services - $25/mo + percentage of transaction (or paypal merchant account - free). If your doing network or affiliate marketing you've got your hosting $5, email autoresponder $19, plus any optional advertising or SEO work you want to outscource. That's it! One customer from one site pays almost all my monthly costs (add-on domains are free).

I would not worry about getting a business loan. you can start an e-commerce or online marketing website for almost nothing! It costs very little really to get started on the internet. There are a lot of companies out there that you can get started with for next to nothing if not for free. I would look into this before jumping at getting a loan. Just my 2 cents! Don

If you already have a customer base then go ahead and set up your E-commerce site. But if you are starting from scratch then you will need customers to buy your products. And how do you find customers? Get your website on the 1st page of the major search engines for the products (keywords ) you are planning to sell. Also there is the social marketing aspect. If you are starting from scratch I would advise you to go over these methods and then decide to launch your website. All the best!

Apart from all the answers you have already received here, I would like to add that I believe that an ebusiness needs to be approached like any other brick and mortar business. Many people look and search for some online "gimmick" or similar, but it is really a question of selling something. It could be services, a product, a membership information or many other things. That being said, you need a good business idea, do your research, prepare a proper business plan, acquire the needed capital - and then launch. The detail of the above, as someone else also said, can be found online. Stay away fromHYIP's and other "get rich" adverts. Resist too much jumping around from one thing to another. Find a solid plan and focus.
