SBA has resource partners like SCORE, Women’s Business Centers and Small Business Development Centers located across the country that provide free business counseling to individuals looking to start or expand a small business. Hello Lily, Congratulations on your desire to start a business. There are generally no grants available to start a for-profit business. You might qualify for a micro-loan, however. You might visit with a counselor at a small business development center or a SCORE office. Their services are free and they can advise you of funding programs available in your area.
