Three suggestions: First - find other large private foundations whose mission is to help kids - either through education or whatever - You can find them by doing a quick online search. Most of these foundations offer grants to other non-profits who can help them meet their mission. Most only ask for a simple letter of interest - thus you send in the letter and they will tell you if they want to help you. make sure you demonstrate that you will help them with their mission. Or, you can find local (city or state) foundations that may help you. In my city - there is a health foundation that provides grants for all sorts of things - even things not associated with health. Lastly, have you appraoched your local government. Most federal grants a given to state and local governments to be distributed by them for all kinds of projects that help their community - you can start with your chamber of commerce - they should be able to point you to the right people. As a side note - you can also go out in your community and approach other business professionals for donations - most people love to give back to their community and what better way then to help the kids.
