Starting a new biz, with whom do I register?

So I have my Fed EIN number and also have registered with the state tax commision.  What else do I need to do with my new business.  Do I need to register with the IRS?

You don't mention what state your are in or the specific line of business you are in so we are all a bit in the dark to give advise... I would suggest you seek out the local SBA or Chamber of Commerce for advise.

I would suggest you also call a CPA or join an accounting forum and ask if you should do an LLC, S corp, C corp, or Incorporate.

kevinmindy, What kind of business are you starting? You may need to file for licenses and permits. Make sure you comply with all the state laws and regulations.

It all depends what is your function and what licenses, permits and registrations are required for your industry. We strongly recommend to retain a professional to organize your business properly. Standard procedure is registering your business either with your county or state, EIN if required, Sales tax if required.   thanks
