I don't consider an EIN to be that important while staring an online business
but as said above, you do need to have a good domain name or a name for your
website that fits into people's memory quickly. Also study your business
niche properly before starting

You definitely need a good domain name but an EIN number doesn't hurt. Get
some traffic before you register with the state though. It's not worth
spending the money to be an official business if you aren't making money yet.

No you don't need an EIN. You need a good domain name. Don't do a market
study do something you are passionate about and are willing to work 50 to 60
hours a week at. Running a profitable online business is extremely difficult
to do. Thins about about it how many people do you know that's sole income
comes from their online business. You need to be willing to work very hard
and enjoy working hard.
