You have to be brutally honest with yourself and ask yourself this question.If you were an adult, would you really consider giving funds to an unknown charity website - especially one run by a child. You may consider yourself to be a mature 14-year old, but the law regards you as still a child.

I have a home based business opportunity, but the person signing up must be 18 or over. I am working it with my son, and he is 15. He finds prospects for me and I pay him for that.

As with all contracts and legal documents, you son must be age 18 to sign them. There are great organizations already out there that do research for CF. Why not look for a local one and raise money for them. They would benefit from your enthusiasm and you would benefit from the existing organizational structure. Starting a non-profit involves lots of administrative work. What would you rather do: raise money for CF or be stuck doing paperwork? My guess is your time would be better spent fundraising. There is no such age but generally age minimum 18 is allowed by some states. But your son can start the business on your name if he is small.
