Would like to start a small business in Indiana. Dont know if it would be a home based business or not. Reupholstering furniture for home or RVs. Anyone know what licenses and permits are needed? What if the wife and I worked out of a rented building and sold used items? Are the permits different? Thanks for any help.

You can start your search for information at your state's Secretary of State (http://www.in.gov/sos/).
You can also try a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in your area - they should know all your local laws and requirements (plus they are free).
