Starting a Subcontracting company from home.....

I'm currently working for a small company that subcontracts low voltage techs throughout the US for retail clients.

 

I live in Southern California and would like to know what type of business this would be considered when applying for a business license and permits.

I would be starting out from my home until the company grows. We would be sub contracting only and not performing the work ourselves.

 

Any info is appreciated.

Hi Shaun949, Have you tried the Permit Me Tool? It generates a list of relevant permits once you put in your information. Check out the California Small Business Guide to learn more about starting a business in your state. Since you are starting this business from home, make sure you are aware of zoning restrictions.
