Starting a Subcontracting company from home.....

I'm currently working for a small company that subcontracts low voltage techs throughout the US for retail clients.

I live in Southern California and would like to know what type of business this would be considered when applying for a business license and permits.

I would be starting out from my home until the company grows. We would be sub contracting only and not performing the work ourselves.
