I have a desire to open a transitional housing/halfway house for ex-offenders being released from prison. I would love to talk with somebody about this topic. I have written my business plan and have very little information in where to start to get it up and running. The information that I have read on the internet all give me different steps that I need to take to get the process rolling. Please note that Community members may not include personally identifiable information, such as phone numbers or email addresses, in posts.

development center or a SCORE office. Their services are free and they can
recommend how best to proceed. As you have probably discovered, transitional
homes are highly licensed and regulated. You may also want to look into
establishing a non-profit to operate the home. That would enable you to
secure funding from outside sources and also limit your personal liability.
