Hi All -

 

I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I need to know where to go or what steps are needed to take in order to become a 'Certified' MWBE.

 

I am researching starting a new business venture and have found that there are grants and state contracts available for Certified Minority/Woman owned Businesses, however, none of the websites have shared resources with how to go about doing such.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Here are a few links to get your research started: Women Owned Businesses Minority Owned Businesses Registering as a Women, Minority, or Veteran Owned Business 8(a) Business Development The first to links provide you with basic information about women and minority owned businesses. In the first link, pay close attention to Accion page. The third link is an article explaining if it is necessary to register as one of these business types. The general consensus from these links is that you register your business the same as any other business, just announcing that you are a minority or women owned business is enough. clspringer, Also, check out Small Business Certification. This page gives a few more resources on how to be recognized as a women or minority owned business since the certifications for these do not exist anymore. BriaS
