Yep, everyone is right on track with this one.  What they didn't mention is that there is a particular order to things...   Fill out your FAFSA first.  You want to get it in as early as you possibly can.  That helps you get the report on Pell Grant eligibility and (perhaps) FSEOG aid as well, depending on your situation.  After that, they consider other programs.  But your best bet is to get your app in VERY early.

The first step is to fill out the FAFSA, which is the application you must submit for any federal aid. At the end of the application you will get an EFC number which will tell the school what they can offer you. There are: Direct Student Loans Perkins Loans Pell Grants FSEOG Grants ACG Grants Private Student Loans   Once your school processes your FAFSA, you will be sent an award letter with what you are eligible foro.

To apply for Federal Financial Aid you will need to submit a FAFSA form. Your school's financial aid office would have the best resources for you. Remember that they want you to come to their college and will help you figure out how to pay for it. JimD

It is great that you are pursuing your dream career and then afterwards you will be off to make a resume. The institution should have the best information on where you can get a grant or loan from and should be able to guide you through the whole process. You can also contact government sources and research on the internet.   The tuition is very high so another option is to go to a state college and double major: one major is in your dream field and the other major serves as a safety net to pay the bills so you don't become a starving artist. This is probably the best option because your costs will be a lot lower and your career resumes and choices will be more flexible.
