Hi Folks,

Long story short, I have been working on a Sugar deal between seller in USA and Buyer in India, for last 2 months-  My friend gave me the contact for Sugar seller having mill in Brazil located here in USA, and willing to export sugar to India/pakistan. I worked on his quote and touch all the international connections and found one strong buyer in India after reaciving 207 buying offers and after alot of phone communications I even flew to India to meet them personally and found them really strong in Sugar and Urea importer- In my 1 week stay in India, I collect all the neccesary financial documents and LOI from them and flew back to US- and provides all the buyer information to seller and request them to close this deal as soon as possible as they accept the offer and willing to move forward-

BUT

Its been 3 weeks the seller(USA) is not replying anything even not saying 'NO' to me, and I am keep getting calls from India buyer almost every 2 days for deal update- I dont know as this is my first deal - and like to know Is this normal act from the average seller or in sugar deals ? I spent all my time, traveling and reseaarch for the best buyer and get back with real buyer and somehow seller is not responding ?

But staying 1 week in India was a great experience- Nice culture and food was awesome :)

Sorry to hear about this frustrating experience. I do not have personal experience in with sugar importers, but perhaps one of our users can chime in.

Did you have an arrangement with the sugar seller to act as his agent to find buyers for his product? If you didn't, that may be part of the problem. The seller may have his own buyers and may not have enough product to meet his clients' needs and the needs of your client as well.
