I am graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology. My specialization is communication design & my key skills are :Photography,Graphic,& Copy writing. I am looking forward to open a t-shirt brand which provides custom made t-shirts for corporate, special event based t-shirts.
But the problem is how to initiate, & how to find clients. The production & designing is sorted but marketing is the issue.

with t-shirts. Find an up-and-coming designer, photograph them, then write
about the interview. Set your site up as a blog, so people will get
interested in new designers you will photograph and feature on your website.
Don't sell yourself short on the skills that you have. Just think outside the
box. From the sounds of your degree you should be able to shoot the subject
and write the story, so find yourself some subjects and submit the stories to
newspapers (for money of course), while you submit the content on your blog
for readers and you will get some advertisers as by-product of your efforts
(for money of course). Don't quit your day job though. It will take a while
to make an income unless you get a big break from a magazine {fingers
crossed} :)
I hope this at least starts the creative juices flowing. The 'self' in "self
employed" really does mean you have to do what "you" want to do, not what you
think others want you to do. That is what being self employed is all about.
That is the part that really makes it all worth it.
If you are dead set on the t-shirt thing, do some "for cost" t-shirt gigs for
non-profits to get used to some bigger events and build your
portfolio/resume. Then you will at least have something to show someone.

facilities where large events are held. You may also want to join your local
chamber of commerce and participate in trade shows. You will need to network,
network, network.
