Dont't over look the competition. Whether you're selling hamburgers, cars or
carpet installation, keep a tab on the competition. Whatever steps they take
you should study and find out how the market is being affected.
I've seen many successful ventures become obsolete after holding major market
share in their markets.

realize what's going on around them (in their market). But tracking the moves
of your competition is key to long-term success. You can be sure they will be
tracking your moves, and using their observations to try and beat you in
customers' eyes.
