After devoting more than four decades to nursing in a traditional setting, I
became increasingly wearied, bored and felt stuck in a career that did not
offer autonomy and potential to earn more money. Motivated by interest in law
and a desire to use my transferable nursing skills, I pursued a second career
as nurse entrepreneur.
A home-based business costs more than money to maintain viability. In my zeal
for being "Boss" I have learned the following key factors crucial to the
success of a business:
1. Prioritize tasks
2. Start each day in prayer and Bible study
3. Exercise at least 30 minutes/ day
4. Eat a healthy breakfast, avoiding fats and sweets
5. Avoid distraction of social media, telephone, and television
6. Dress appropriately
7. Take 15 minute breaks as needed
8. Believe you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you
Discipline! Determination! Diligence...contributes to success!

iv put on quite the weight. I couldn't agree with you more regarding the
point #1 Prioritizing Tasks , it is the most vital skill you must work on
excelling to run a successful home based business, thanks for the post.
FYI: I run a digital marketing company completely home based but planning on
eventually settling it in an office, I would really want to work outside my
home. oh well, perhaps in the neat future.

down what I need to accomplish each morning and check the tasks off as I go
along. Some days I have to carry projects over to the next day but having the
list helps to keep me on task.

a "business owner". One way or the other discipline as stated above is key.
Organization is another very important detail. Without it you will drive
yourself crazy and your pockets drive.
Realizing that like any other investment, it is well... an Investment. You
won't get anything if you put in nothing.
Lastly, you must love it. Not the concept of working from home, but whatever
it is you are doing, you must love it.

everyday. And, since it is your own business (you the boss) that also
included marketing on the weekends. As you are now the business, everywhere
you go, everything you do and everyone you talk with creates a marketing
opportunity that should not (or never) be missed!
