True Novice starting a small take-out restaurant

My boyfriend and I want to open our own take-out restaurant preferably in the downtown area of NYC. However we are starting out with no captial, bad credit, and no guidance. Because we are very diligent, ambitious, and always educating ourselves about various topics, we still believe that we can make it happen. Few questiions:
Does anyone have any advice for us as to where to start?
Is it a good idea to invest in buyind the Business Pro to start our business plan or should we hire someone?
How will our current financial situation affect us?
