My daughter and I have had a micro business for the past 12 years!  Never thought of it that way.  We have created a wonderful Salon & Skin Care center in the heart of Atlanta, GA.    I cannot imagine having the freedom and flexibily to create such a specialized environment or being motivated to develop our skills and expand our business expertise if we had chosen to work in the corporate world.    Not only do we contribute to the tax revenue stream for the Federal and State goverment but we contribute to our communities.   I am hopeful that the Recovery package supports business like mine - that are productive members of society and still consider business ethics essential!   I would like to see some legislation that would regulate the Banking Community and prevent them from using us like cash cows and penalizing us in such an inventive variety of ways.    Perhaps give us a tax deduction for the exhorbitant interest that we have to pay for credit. There used to be a tax deduction for credit card interest.  Banks are deliberately targeting small business with credit offers and then jacking up our interest rates.  Creepy ethics. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs!

Sounds like a great idea!   I am not sure how many non-US memebers you have here but I'd imagine/hope I am not the only one.   As a foreigner, trying to do business in the US over the internet, I would love to see more discussions/resourses on what exactly is required in order to go from zero knowledge to full time business owner.   Steps to take, what to do, and what forms to fill in. All in a simple and easliy understandable way. I know there are some online companies that have a selfserv soultion (unless you are prepard to pay a lot of money of coure) that take you through the steps of but in my opinion, they take you only half the way. There is so much more to starting your own business than just forming an LLC or corp and setting up a mailing address. Figuring all that out from abroad is very hard.Espacially concerning taxes.   Just a thought.
