Valuation Contracts

I am researching contracts between the United States Government and asset valuation firms.

I would like to know whether the government (the Department of the Treasury or other entity) is contracting with such firms to provide valuation services on assets recently acquired by the government in the wake of the current financial turmoil. If so, I would like to know as much detail as possible about such contracts. For instance, I would be interested in information on the selection process of these contractors, what type of assets are being valued, how many such contracts exist, etc. I would also appreciate a list of firms that have entered into such contracts with the government.
